Queen Skittles Photography by Julie Klima Casey » Blog

Last Thursday, we did a photo booth for Dwyer Middle School’s annual fundraiser at Fuzion in Huntington Beach. It’s a perfect add-on to a fundraiser event so donors have a print to take home & remember a fantastic evening! The theme this year was “Retro” so we went with the colorful boombox that Dwyer used on the event flyer. It’s definitely one of my favorite backdrops to date!

Most of the photo booth participants were the kids. And oh did they LOVE playing with all our crazy props! After doing numerous photo booths, it’s always entertaining to see what props they will use and how they use them! There were even a few dancers & cheerleaders, so we got them in action! Check out a few highlights below…

This photobooth is so bright and fun, and I wish I could teleport to the fundraiser for a little of that action! I think every middle school in Orange County should hire you for fundraisers and events!

In February, we worked an 80’s RADICAL photo booth for a 50th birthday bash in Seal Beach at the Old Ranch Country Club. My husband is usually the digital tech/printer, and I, of course, operate the camera. I always LOVE an 80’s theme with all the neon colors, ridiculous fashion, & of course having props of all the toys that I grew up with!

With every photo booth, I have a wide variety of props to choose from, but I usually collect a few extra photo booth props that match the theme of each party. My favorite 80’s props I’ve collected- gigantic NERDS candy box, blow up Boombox, oversized rainbow slinky, jumbo Rubik’s cube, huge Hershey’s chocolate bottle, and a big Mentos mints carton (The Freshmaker!).

Here are a few of my favorites from that day…(& check out more of our fabulous Queen Skittles Photo Booths here: Queen Skittles’ Photo Booths!)

Botanical gardens, a gigantic oak tree, a giggly couple, silly groomsmen, adorable bridesmaids, & Hawaiian dancers- all of which were present at Jonnell & Jesus’s wedding last October! We started with a romantic first look at the Pacific Palms Resort in the City of Industry. I always love seeing the reaction of the groom seeing his bride for the first time! After that, we had a little fun with the groomsmen & bridesmaids pics- I even got the guys to do a kick line!

Jonnell & Jesus had a lovely ceremony at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in La Puente. From there, we got to the reception site early to take more romantic pics around the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden & some group shots of the bridal party. The garden is such a wonderful place for stunning portraits! I especially loved the large old oak tree- Jonnell & Jesus specifically wanted to get photos under its canopy. It was a bit of a walk, but well worth it! We snapped photos along the way there & back- so many photo opportunities! It was difficult for me to stop shooting so they could have their grand entrance!

Check out a few of my favorite pics from that day…

I just couldn’t wait to share these photos of this adorable couple- Jackie & Cliff! Their wedding was yesterday- March 21. I always like to edit a few images and send them ASAP to the bride & groom so they can post them up immediately on social media. I ended up choosing over 40 images that I just HAD to edit right away!

So here they are! Check back in my “Weddings” gallery for their entire wedding day story in a few weeks!
